Father with walking on beach at sunset, father's day on cape cod

Father’s Day is on Sunday, June 16th this year. There’s a lot to do on Cape Cod for Father’s Day! If you’re looking for ways to celebrate your dad, your husband, or another special man in your life, check out some of these ideas.

Father’s Day Brunch Train

The Cape Cod Central Railroad may be known for its magical winter Polar Express train ride, but it also offers a Father’s Day brunch train the dads in your life will enjoy! The train takes off from Hyannis and rides through Barnstable and Sandwich. They have other Sunday brunch dates on their calendar, as well.

Father’s Day Car Show

With free admission to the public, the Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce Father’s Day Car Show is sure to please all dads. It will be held on Sunday, June 16th, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Main Street in Hyannis. With cars from hot rods to classic cars, there will be over 350 vehicles on display. It’s the Cape’s largest one-day spectator event! Hyannis Main Street will be open with lots of shopping and restaurants to choose from. Food trucks and other vendors are scheduled to be at the event, too.

Catch the Cape Cod Baseball League

If the dad in your life would love to go to a ball game, there are a ton to choose from. The Cape Cod Summer League kicks off Father’s Day weekend with five games on Father’s Day:

Bourne @ Brewster, 5 p.m.

Hyannis @ Harwich, 5:30 p.m.

Wareham @ Falmouth, 6 p.m.

Cotuit @ Orleans, 6:30 p.m.

Yarmouth-Dennis @ Chatham, 7 p.m.

Ready to hit the links?

If dad wants a game for the whole family, mini-golf can be fun for kids and adults alike. Check out Steve & Sue’s Par-Tee Freeze and Lightning Falls Adventure Mini Golf in Hyannis. They also have great soft-serve ice cream for a treat after your mini-golf game.

If dad wants a round with other dads or adults, take a ride down to Truro to step foot on one of the Cape’s oldest golf courses, Highland Links, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. People say it is the most beautiful golf course on the Cape.

If you’re further up the Cape, you can head to the Cape Cod Country Club in East Falmouth. It’s a championship course with public booking times. Don’t miss the Coonamessett Cafe for a snack while you’re there!

Regardless of how you celebrate Father’s Day on Cape Cod this year, make sure you let the special guy in your life know that he means a lot to you!
